CIP ball with triclamp fittings

For all those who do not have CIP in their boiler I have had a special fitting made that will fit right in. Most still boilers (kettles) have a 2″ relief valve fitted which doesn’t do much. My new CIP fitting will clamp right onto that in 15 seconds. It has a built-in 1/5″ triclamp fitting to connect a hose to and you are ready to start cleaning. Very convenient, very quick, no extra fittings, no welding, no fuss.

My new CIP ball fitting will clamp right onto that in 15 seconds. It has a built-in 1.5″ triclamp fitting to connect a hose to and you are ready to start cleaning. Very convenient, very quick, no extra fittings, no welding, no fuss.
This what I do: I connect a pump to the drain valve and to the CIP. I fill enough sodium hydroxide solution at about 2% to cover the elements by about 75mm and I heat the liquid up to about 60C. Then I start the pump and it recycles the solution while spraying it all over the inside of the kettle. It usually takes about 30-060 mins to clean depending on how much organic material is stuck to the sides. I follow this up with a water rinse, citric acid CIP routine and another water rinse.
